What Folks Are Saying About Hoppel Poppel Kosher Comix
"Two thumbs up!" It's hilarious. Timely, cinematic-style episodes that shine a piercing spotlight on our idiosyncrasies. If you're open-minded you'll laugh out loud. If not, forgedaboudit.
TODD EICHENBAUM
"One finger up!" Irreverent and often blasphemous. But like it says in the dedication: "If we do not laugh at ourselves, who will laugh at us?"
STEVE EICHENBAUM
"It's got chutzpah!" Hoppel Poppel is composed in the style of the great satirists. It's quasiphilosophical and semi-autobiographical.
FRED EICHENBAUM
"Informative! Educational!" I particularly enjoyed the maps and charts, and the photos of the back roads and byways of northern Nebraska are simply exhilarating.
MAYDA CRITES
This is the groisest pile of fekokteh drek that was ever assembled in one place. I would like to stuff Hoppel Poppel up the author's tuchus and then snip of his baytsem.
MOST HIGH RABBI SCHMUEL FERBISSONER
I didn't know half the Yiddish words in the book. Thank G-d for the glossary in the back, which helped me to understand why my boobeh and Zaydie used to laugh so much when they spoke their native language. They were filthy.
SHANDA BERKOWITZ
I'll tell you why I hate Hoppel Poppel. This is a comic book. I used to have to pay ten cents for a comic book. And it was in color! It used to have strong guys who could put a fist through a brick wall, or strong women who had breasts like the front bumpers on a 1953 Buick. Better you should watch I Love Lucy on the classic cable network. At lease Desi Arnez didn't try to conceal his Jewish heritage.
ARNIE FERTRAGGEN
Hoppel Poppel is sweet and pure, except for the language. It is a constant source of chuckles. When I feel a little blue, I'll take my copy of the shelf and burn a page or two. That always makes me feel better.
DIANE FINSTER
What? What is it? What does that mean? I don't get the you know the words. And the pictures are sort of you know different. It ain't my kind of book. It ain't no Stephen King.
EDDIE KRETZ
If you know a second- or third-generation Jewish Person who is sick in the hospital, you give him or her this book and believe me they'll die laughing. Well, maybe that's a poor choice of words. Let's say they'll enjoy themselves. Hoppel Poppel Kosher Comix is joyful.
